THE POSTING
Phu Quoc is an island base, and every island base has the same shape: everything the place needs arrives by air, and every decision you make is downstream of how far away the nearest usable alternate is.
It is the quietest posting on the junior board, and the one where a diversion costs the most.

THE FIELD
A modern field on flat ground near the west coast of the island, with the Gulf of Thailand on three sides and Cambodian airspace close by to the north. Approaches are simple and the runway is long enough that performance is never the issue.
The weather is. The southwest monsoon runs May to October and builds convection over the gulf with very little warning, and there is nothing between the island and the sea to slow it down. The mainland alternates are a long way back for an aircraft that planned a short sector.
THE FLYING
Leisure, almost exclusively, with a schedule that swings hard between full and empty by season.
The thinnest board of the four bases open at signup, and the one where everything worth flying to is across water. This is a posting you take for the flying rather than the volume.

A holiday cabin on a route with no easy outs. Medical events are the ones that matter here: the correct call is often the expensive one, and the nearest suitable field is rarely the convenient one.
Fuel discipline is the quiet theme. Everything about this base rewards the pilot who planned for a decision they hoped not to make.
FLYING IT FOR REAL
The default island is sparse and the field is generic. If any base on the network is improved by third-party scenery, it is this one — though the water and the approach are pleasant enough without it.
Nothing here is required. Every sector out of this base flies on default scenery, on any simulator the Companion App supports.
